BLUE & GREEN Associations
The area of Hof HaCarmel is one geographic unit lying from the green Carmel Mountain to the blue Mediterranean. The area offers a unique combination of culture, nature, scenery and heritage values.
Hof HaCarmel area includes pre-historic village ruins buried in the sea; Five beautiful ancient beach cities; and Ancient Fortresses and citadels. There are plenty of habitats for marine and beach animals, birds and reptiles.
BLUE & GREEN believes that the preservation of the natural resources of the region is a national interest, and that the area should be developed so that it becomes and asset that serves the entire Israeli population and its future generations.
BLUE & GREEN Association was established in 1999 by a group of concerned citizens, resident of Hof HaCarmel. The group identified a need to improve the quality of living and the environment by increasing the awareness of the region's residents as well as monitoring and criticizing local and national authorities acting in the area.
Goals of the Associations:
- Increasing awareness of the environment within Hof HaCarmel residents.
- Keeping the beaches opens without pay.
- Preserving heritage, nature and scenery values and the agricultural nature.
- Promoting waste management: Cleanliness, recycling, agricultural waste and illegal waste disposal.
- Involvement in planning and building processes and ensuring development of the area's resources.
The Association is active based on the Associations Law – 1980 and serves that residents of Hof HaCarmel and the entire Israeli population, and does not discriminate by age, gender, religion or race, nor does it have any political affiliation.
The Association's goals will be met through maximal cooperation between the region's villages and cities and environmental organizations.
The Association's board is comprised of seven members who are residents of Hof HaCarmel, one of them is the chairperson of the board. Among the board members are: and archeologist, a lawyer, education people and others. The Association employs a salaried secretary and accountant.
The Association's activites are based on contributions from funds, contributions of professional services (legal, advertising, etc.) and annual membership fees.
